A trailer has been released for the Australian WWI film, Before Dawn, from director Jordon Prince-Wright (The Decadent & Depraved). The screenplay is written by Jarrad Russell, based on the story and characters by Prince-Wright and Russell.
The film stars Levi Miller (A Wrinkle in Time), Travis Jeffery, Myles Pollard, Tim Franklin, Jordan Dulieu, Peter Sullivan, Ed Oxenbould and Stephen Peacocke.
The synopsis reads:
“After leaving his family’s sheep farm in the Australian outback, a young man joins his countrymen on the western front of World War I with hopes of helping expedite an end to the bloody conflict. As war rages on, he is forced to grapple with the brutal realities of trench warfare, including a near-constant battle to keep himself alive—without leaving another man behind.”
This looks similar to other WWI films, but it does show the perspective of the Australians who were involved, who fought and lost their lives, and who survived to tell their stories. Check out the trailer below, and watch Before Dawn in select US theaters and on VOD on July 19th.
