In this new cryptocurrency investing for beginners series, I’ll be reading parts of my book, Cryptocurrency Investing For Dummies, to simulate a book-signing experience for those of you who haven’t got a chance to meet me in person.

You’ve probably heard about Bitcoin here and there. Heck, you may have even heard of other cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum and Litecoin. But what’s the big deal about all these funny-sounding coins anyway? Is Litecoin just a very light coin that won’t take much space in your physical wallet? Is a Bitcoin made of bits and pieces of other valuable coins? Why on earth should you invest in bits of coins?
