Filled with breathtaking images, Nafkot – Yearning is a fascinating look at an isolated Ethiopian Jewish society through the lens of an Israeli anthropologist and activist who travels to Ethiopia to meet and document a hidden Jewish community. She hopes her work will help share their unique story as they struggle to retain their identity, traditions, and survival among so many changes happening in the world around them. She travels throughout the community, making numerous historical site visits, including to the first hidden synagogue and participates in the reenactments of their sacred ceremonies.
