Paul Thomas Anderson (The Will Be Blood, Licorice Pizza) has set up his next film project at Warner Bros. and he has an all-star cast that will be led by Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, and Regina Hall.
Anderson will direct the untitled film from a script that he wrote, and it will go into production this year in California. The story details for the movie are being kept under wraps, but the movie is “a contemporary setting and it is the most commercial one that PTA has attempted, with commensurate budget.”
DiCaprio was courted for a lot of movie roles in the wake of Killers of the Flower Moon, and this is the project that he chose for his next movie. It must be a strong story, with an interesting character that he’s excited about playing.
I like the kinds of films that Anderson makes, and it will be interesting to see what this one ends up being as his most commercial movie.
