Six people, including a child, have been shot in the Bronx during what appeared to be a gang-related firefight on Monday afternoon, sources familiar with the incident reported.
According to preliminary details that law enforcement sources provided, the victims were struck by gunfire at around 4:51 p.m. on Dec. 30 at 3544 White Plains Road in Olinville, in the confines of the 47th Precinct.
Sources said the victims included a mother and her 12-year-old daughter. While the extent of their injuries are unclear, they and the four other victims — including one man who walked into a local hospital seeking treatment — are listed in stable condition at area hospitals and are expected to survive.
Police are reportedly searching for several suspects who are believed to have been engaged in a gang shootout. Police are expected to release more details in the coming hours.
