One of the most exciting things to happen at Marvel’s Hall H Comic-Con panel was the whole segment covering The Fantastic 4.
Marvel President Kevin Feige and the film’s director, Matt Shakman, were obviously pumped to promote this film, and they faked us out, reminding us that the actors arrived in London just last week, so they wouldn’t be attending the convention.
But, of course, they later revealed that the actors did in fact fly out just for the occasion, and we got to see Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
The movie doesn’t start shooting until next week, so we didn’t have a trailer or any official scenes from the movie to watch, but what they did show us was a clip that Shakman described as “test footage.”
What we saw looked like an old film reel from the 1960s, and in it, we saw the characters as astronauts in what felt like a NASA behind the scenes. One awesome bit was at the end of the footage, when we caught a quick glimpse of Galactus, who was epic and gigantic! I can’t wait to see what they do with him!
Also, one wild moment was when we got to see the new name for the film! It shall henceforth be known as The Fantastic 4: First Steps.
Joey and Billy talk about the footage in the video below. Check it out and enjoy:
