World Jewish Congress

On the morning of 18 July 1994, the Argentinian Jewish community suffered a devastating terrorist attack: the bombing of the Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA) Jewish community centre in which 85 people were killed and over 300 wounded.

The World Jewish Congress and the Latin American Jewish Congress, in cooperation with the Delegation of Argentinian Jewish Organizations and AMIA and in coordination with the Government of Argentina, commemorated the 30th Anniversary of the AMIA bombing. In addition to the official commemoration ceremony, there were several high-level meetings with the WJC Special Envoys for Combating Antisemitism, the WJC International Council of Jewish Parliamentarians, and security of Jewish communities.
