ANGRY BIRDS 3 Is in Development with Jason Sudeikis and Josh Gad Returning to Franchise — GeekTyrant

I guess Angy Birds is still popular as Rovio Entertainment Corporation and Sega are developing The Angry Birds Movie 3.

It’s explained that the sequel will “see the further adventures of Red and Chuck” who will be voiced again by Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso) and Josh Gad (Frozen).”

The Angry Birds Movie 3 will be directed by John Rice (The Angry Birds Movie) from a script written by Thurop Van Orman (The Angry Birds Movie 2), who will also executive produce alongside Toru Nakahara (Sonic the Hedgehog).

The movie will be produced by John Cohen (The Garfield Movie), Dan Chuba (The Mitchells vs. the Machines) and Carla Connor.

More casting news will be announced soon. DNEG Animation is attached as an animation partner.

The Angry Birds movie franchise is based on the mobile game series, which centers around the adventures of a group of flightless birds who inhabit the idyllic Bird Island.

The first film, released in 2016, introduces Red, a bad-tempered bird with a permanent scowl, who becomes the unlikely hero when Piggy Island’s porcine inhabitants, led by King Leonard Mudbeard, steal the birds’ eggs.

Alongside his friends Chuck, Bomb, and other colorful characters, Red leads a mission to Piggy Island to rescue the eggs.

The sequel, The Angry Birds Movie 2, released in 2019, expands on the universe by introducing a new threat from Eagle Island, led by the vengeful Zeta. Zeta’s plan to freeze both Bird Island and Piggy Island forces the birds and pigs to form an uneasy alliance to save their homes.

Prime Focus Studios, Rovio and Sega will produce the movie in association with One Cool Group, Flywheel Media, and dentsu.
