Lucasfilm has officially confirmed that Dave Filoni is developing Star Wars: Ahsoka Season 2. We all assumed that we would see a second season to the series, but until now, Lucasfilm has not confirmed it was happening.
The news was shared in the recent announcement of Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian & Grogu Star Wars movie. After mentioning Filoni as a producer on the film, the report goes on to say, “who is also currently developing Ahsoka Season 2, among those in the works.”
This news comes shortly after Rosario Dawson said there have been no talks regarding Season 2 of Ahsoka. She said, “No. We’re supposed to be having a dinner soon, of the whole cast, which will be really nice because I haven’t seen everyone. I was very jealous seeing everyone at some of their cons recently, which I wasn’t able to be at.”
There’s a great story here to be told with these characters, and while the first season of the series wasn’t perfect, I do like where the story is headed, and I’m excited to watch that story play out!
Ahosoka also stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger. I’m sure we’ll see Hayden Christensen return as well to take on the role of Anakin Skywalker.
