The Venetian Ghetto was the area of Venice in which Jews were forced to live by the government of the Venetian Republic. The English word ghetto is derived from the Jewish ghetto in Venice.
On a beautiful September morning, we took a walk in this area to learn about the history and see how people are living today in this area, which finished with some delicious Jewish challah and rugelach.
